David Allen Clark, age 82, of Valparaiso, and formerly of Portage, passed away Monday, May 18, 2026. He was born on March 6, 1944, in Chicago, Illinois to the late Carl and Evelyn Clark. Dave proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a self-employed photographer whose creative eye and passion for his work touched many throughout the years. He also loved fast cars and motorcycles and enjoyed the excitement and freedom they brought him. Dave was a talented drummer and enjoyed playing with local bands. He adored his grandchildren and will always be remembered as a dedicated father and grandfather.

He is survived by his daughter, Emily (Chris) LaVelle; son, Aaron (Jackie) Clark; grandchildren, Jase and Piper Clark, and Christopher, Alexandria, and Brooklyn LaVelle; along with many other loving family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Evelyn Clark; brothers, Les and Sid; and sisters, Ethel, Betty, and Anita.

Visitation for Dave will be held Wednesday, May 27, 2026 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart. Additional visitation will be held Thursday, May 28, 2026 from 10:00 am until 11:30 am with a funeral service taking place at 11:30. He will be laid to rest at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois.
