David Datsko, a longtime resident of Lake Station passed away Monday, September 8, 2025. He was born on July 24, 1945, in Gary, Indiana to the late Nick and Rose Mary Datsko. He retired from US Steel where he worked as a metallurgist technician. David was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and he dedicated his life to God and to his church.
He is survived by his sister, Raffaella Caesar; and many loving family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nick and Rose Mary Datsko. Memorial contributions in David's name may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas, 66675.
Visitation for David will be held Thursday, September 11, 2025, from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart. Mass of Christian Burial will take place Friday, September 12, 2025, at 11:00 am at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 2447 Putnam St, Lake Station with visitation there from 10 am until the time of Mass.
