David F. Dixon Jr.

Age 66, passed away Tuesday, March 04, 2014 at St Mary Medical Center in Hobart. He was born on February 25, 1948 to David F. and Beatrice (nee Sorrell) Dixon Sr. in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He was a retired Millwright from U.S. Steel, a lifetime member and a 4yr. commander of the S.A.L Post 260 and the VFW Post 7760. David enjoyed wood working and carpentry. He will be remembered as a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
David is survived by his loving wife of 42 yrs. Margie (nee Hoover) Dixon; son, Karl (Jeannine) Liebig, two daughters, Jerri (Ryan) Hall and Karri (John Coryell) Dixon; 9 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; mother, Beatrice (nee Sorrell) Dixon; brother, Dennis (Lynn) Dixon; numerous nieces and nephews and other loving family members and friends.
David was preceded in death by his father, David F. Dixon Sr. and sister, Peggy Williams.
In lieu of flowers donations to the Dixon family would be appreciated.
Funeral Service for David will be Saturday, March 8, 2014 at 6pm with S.A.L service at Rees Funeral Home, 5241 Central Ave, Portage, Indiana, 46368. Cremation will follow.
