David "Davey" Gaughan Jr.
Lake Station, Indiana
Age 25, passed away Sunday, March 2, 2014. Davey was born on May 9, 1988 to David and Cynthia (nee Nicwander) Gaughan in Chicago, Illinois. He worked in parts and services for the Indiana Department of Transportation. Davey was an avid sports lover; he enjoyed softball, baseball, rock climbing, bean bags and golf. He will be remembered as a loving son, protective and caring big brother and little brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend.
Davey is survived by his parents; David and Cynthia Gaughan Sr. of Lake Station; two sisters, Meaghan (Ryan) Hobbs of Portage, Emily Gaughan of Lake Station, niece, Madeline Hobbs; maternal grandmother, Jettie Nicwander Bluefield, West Virginia; aunt, Wanda (Bill) Nicwonder of Carol Stream, Illinois; paternal grandmother, Shelia D'Amico of California; girlfriend, Sharice Smith of Portage; paternal grandfather, Thomas Gaughan of California; best friends, Jimmy, John, Kevin, Jack , JJ, Kyle , Kevin and Erika, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, other loving family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather Robert Nicwander and uncles, Michael and Robert E. Nicwander.
In lieu of flowers donations to the Lake Station Little League would be appreciated.
A funeral service for Davey will be Friday, March 7, 2014 at 12:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, Portage, Indiana, 46368. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Portage.
