David Alden "Dave" Halford II, age 37, of Hobart, passed away Saturday, July 9, 2016. He was born on Christmas Day, 1978 in Crown Point, Indiana to David A. Halford Sr. and Emily Bisset. He enjoyed playing pool, swimming, boating, shooting off fireworks and drinking beers in the garage. He was an avid fan of the Chicago Bears, the Chicago White Sox and NASCAR. Above all, he loved his sons and cherished the time he spent with them. He was the type of person who would put anyone before himself. He left this world a hero. Dave will always be remembered for his benevolent nature, which is the strongest measure of a man's integrity.

(Pattie) Halford Sr. and Emily (fiancé, Richard Medina Sr.) Bisset; sons, Derrick, David and Devon Halford; Jennifer Szymaszek; brothers, Brandon Casey, Matthew Halford, Richard (Maria) Medina Jr.; sisters, Latisha (John) Ackermann, Krystin (Kevin) Smith, Tiffany (Kyle) Lee, Tracey (Michael) Parrett; nieces, KyLee, Cori, and Lexi; nephew, Thomas; uncles, Jim Bisset, Bill (Yvonne) Bisset, Leroy (Debbie) Casey; aunts, Helen (Norbert) Wilson, Mable Nelson, Erdine (Dennis) Weis, Betty (Lee) Soucie, Debbie Brock, Marsha Halford (Donna), Sharyl (Floyd) York, Connette (Ferman) Blalock, Bonnie Halford, Donna (Hunter) Krause, Margaret (Del) Sako; grandmother, Caroline Casey; dad, Michael Casey.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Russell and Rosemary Halford, maternal grandparents, Marion and John Bisset; uncles, Don Halford, Mike Halford, Billy Dale Brock, Robert Bisset, Jack Bisset; aunt, Ginger Bisset. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Dave's name may be made to the family.

A funeral service for Dave will take place Monday, July 18, 2016 at 10:00 am at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart with Pastor Bob Parnell officiating. He will be laid to rest at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville. Visitation will be held Sunday, July 17, 2016 from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
