David James Hawkins

David James Hawkins, age 65 of Hobart passed away Sunday, July 5, 2020.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Lena Conley- Hawkins, mother, Barb, father, Joseph, and brother Jack.

He is survived by his children, David (Crystal) Hawkins, Joseph (Tabatha) Hawkins, grandchildren Darren, Tyler, Brendon, Austin, and Elijah, his sisters, Jo and Nora, two stepchildren David (Julie) Conley, Ramona Conley,

David was a mechanic most of his life and welder. He enjoyed early life biking with friends to Michigan City, making forts in the woods by his house, and making dune buggies. Later in life as he became a father, it was beach days, Washington Park, the zoo, lighthouse, and other functions. He was a great grandfather to his grandchildren and loved having them around.

Funeral services are Friday, July 10, 2020 at 12 p.m. at Rees Funeral Homes, 600 W. Old Ridge Road, Hobart.  Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Portage.  Visitation is just prior to the service from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel.  (219) 942-2109
