DAVID G. HIGGINS, age 81, of Hobart, passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2026. He was born in Madison, IN to the late Bernie and Margie Higgins. Dave was a graduate of Lew Wallace High School, and continued to meet with his classmates until recent years. In his free time, he enjoyed maintaining his fish tanks and playing poker with his brother, Burkie. David will be remembered as a loving father, brother and friend.

He is survived by children, Denise (Jeff) Adkins and Mike (Rae) Maxwell; grandchildren, Trevor and Jeremy (Katy) Adkins; great grandchild, Garrett; siblings, Burkie (Roberta) Higgins, Sharon (George) Pastry; numerous nieces and nephews and other family and friends.

Dave was also preceded in death by his siblings, Richard, Bob and Sandy Schuetzenhofer; and former wife and dear friend, Mae Higgins.

There will be memorial visitation for David on Saturday, September 12, 2026 from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at 4:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel.
