IN LOVING MEMORY OF
David Blaze
Rocchi, Sr.
June 22, 1954 – April 28, 2021
David "Blaze" Rocchi, 66, transitioned April 28, 2021, at South Lake Methodist hospital in Merrillville Indiana after a long battle with cancer. He was in the presence of his surviving son David Blaze Rocchi Jr.
Blaze was born June 22, 1954 to Orlando and Laura Rocchi. He was raised in Northwest Indiana with 3 sisters- Jaye, Gayle, and Jennifer Leigh. Our families fondest memories are with our tight nit neighbors and our beloved relatives the "Lakes".
Like many, this young man started his career working in the Northwest Indiana Steel Mills. This was short lived, and he moved south to Missouri where he surrounded himself with his chosen extended family and friends and learned a trade as a carpenter. He was able to spend time in nature – fishing, game hunting, arrowhead collecting, and raising his son as a single parent.
Later in life, Blaze fulfilled a lifelong work dream to be part of a Carpenter's Union -1005. He moved back to Hobart Indiana where he bought a home and put down roots with his son and grandson Jaxson- the JOY of his life.
It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our brother, father, friend, and cousin. He is survived by his sisters, Jaye and Jennifer, son Blaze, grandson Jaxson, his Northwest Indiana friends and relatives, and his Missouri extended family of friends whom he loved dearly.
We are beyond proud of your accomplishments! Rest in Peace.
