David Michael Wozniak

David Michael "Dave" Wozniak, age 48, of Portage, passed away Friday, January 27, 2017. He was born on March 8, 1968 in Gary, Indiana to Phillip and Diana Wozniak. He was a 1986 graduate of Hobart High School and attended Purdue University in West Lafayette. Dave retired in 2016 from US Steel, where he worked as a supervisor. Dave was a sportsman and in his free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and boating. He also liked crafting and could fix just about anything.

Dave is survived by his sons, Jared David Wozniak of Hobart, Christopher (Nicole) Bush of Carmel, IN; grandchildren, Weston and Jared Bush; mother, Diana Reynolds previously of Hobart; father, Phillip S. (Joyce) Wozniak of Harlingen, TX; brother, J. Jeffrey Wozniak previously of Munster; niece, Jennifer (Rick) Leary of Arizona; uncle, Allen (Linda) Wozniak of Portage; aunts, Jane (David) Mantz of Portage, Vivian Chandler of Spokane, Washington, and Daryl Fields of Portage; special cousins, James, Robert, Daniel, Kevin, Jared, and Kate Chandler.
Memorial contributions in Dave's name may be made to a college fund for his son, Jared.

A funeral service for Dave will take place Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 12:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road Hobart with Rev. Charles Strietelmeier officiating. He will be laid to rest at Chesterton Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home. For more information, please call (219) 942-2109.
