Dawn T. Anderson

Dawn T. Anderson, age 53, of Portage, passed away Monday, March 11, 2019. She was born on October 3, 1965 in Chicago, IL to the late Edward and Jean Melant. She was a 1983 graduate of Hubbard High School in Chicago. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and worked as a Registered Nurse at several hospitals. Dawn was a dedicated advocate for people in need. She was a member of Medicare for All, Don't Punish Pain, her local Neighborhood Watch and she was a sponsor for Narcotics Anonymous. In her free-time, she liked to bowl, fish, garden and vacation with her family. Above all, she loved her family and her face would light up every time she saw her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, John Anderson; daughters, Melissa Welch, Amanda Latronica; son-in-law, Josh Welch; grandchildren, Alexis Latronica, Anastasia Welch and Vanessa Welch; ex husband, Larry Latronica; brothers, Carl (Sandy) Melant, Edward (Tim Martin) Melant, Jr.; sister, Linda Madera; many loving nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.

Memorial contributions in Dawn's name may be made to the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 15829 Arlington, VA 22215.

A funeral service for Dawn will take place Friday, March 15, 2019 at 7:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave., Portage.
