DELBERT D. SOWERS, age 76, of Hobart passed away on Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at St. Mary Medical Center in Hobart. He was born on September 6, 1936 in Veedersburg, Indiana, the son of George W. Sowers and Frances (nee Hughes) Sowers. Delbert was a retired tree trimmer from N. G. Gilbert Corporation with 38 years of service. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Delbert is survived by 2 sons, Victor (Angela) Sowers and Michael Sowers (Jessica Supp), all of Hobart, IN, 2 daughters, Candy Miller of Lake Station and Teresa (Loral) Wright of Hobart, IN, 10 Grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, 3 brothers, Orville Sowers of Lafayette, IN, Lester Sowers of Brookston, IN and Milton Sowers of Florida, 3 sisters, Vida (Fred) Roarks and Bessie (Victor) Howard, all of Attica, Indiana and Avis Chissom of Florence, Oregon and numerous nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 42 years, Bonnie Lue Sowers, 3 brothers, Don, Bob and Dorvin Sowers and a sister, Rosie Sowers.
Funeral services will be held Monday, December 10, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home 600 West Old Ridge Rd. Hobart, with Rev. Mitch Whidden officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Hobart.
