Delia Vega

Delia Vega Rodriguez (née Vera), of Valparaiso passed away Monday, December 5, 2022 surrounded by her family to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  Preceded in death by her husband, Modesto Vega; parents, Salvador and Monserratte Vera; and son in law, Victor González Sr.

Lovingly remembered by her 8 children; Gladys (Brian) Barrett, Myrna (Victor +) González , Modesto Vega Jr, Ricardo (Laura) Vega, Daniel (Nancy) Vega, Arlene (Albert) Vasquez, Lilly (Dan) Sanchez and David (Carmen) Vega.

Delia was also affectionately known as Mima to her 25 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.  She was the oldest of 12 siblings who all grew up in Lares, Puerto Rico before migrating to the United States.

Delia was always known to have a smile on her face, a warm cup of coffee and a snack ready for everyone who visited her home. She was a devout woman of faith and her family's greatest prayer warrior and support. Delia leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love and will be greatly missed by all the lives she has touched over the years.

Visitation for Delia will be held on Thursday, December 8, 2022 from 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave. Portage. Additional visitation will take place Friday, December 9, 2022 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 356 W. 7 Mile Road, Valparaiso, IN with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00 am.
