Delos Edward Kerns, age 80 of Portage passed away Sunday, March 22, 2015. He was born on November 25, 1934 in Medaryville, Indiana to the late Edward and Laura Kerns. Delos retired from American Bridge where he had worked as a Template Maker. He had also worked at Aylesworth Elementary School as a Health Aide. Delos served his country in the U.S. Army.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Kerns of Portage, IN; one son, Craig (Marie) Kerns of Kouts, IN; one daughter, Tricia Kerns of Crete, IL; one granddaughter, Christina Kerns of Fort Wayne, IN; and one great-grandson, Roman.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Damon Kerns, one sister, Maxine Lower, and one daughter, Pamela Kerns.

Funeral services are Saturday, March 28, 2015 at 10 a.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave., Portage with Rev. Dr. Laura Reason officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Portage. Visitation is Friday, March 27, 2015 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, Portage.
