Denise L Potts

Denise (nee Layhew) Potts, age 64, of Hobart, passed away Saturday, February 3, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in East Chicago, Indiana to the late Charles and Dorothy (nee Helton) Layhew. She was a past member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary of Portage and adored her fur babies. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.

She is survived by her loving husband, Thomas L. Potts Sr.; three sons, Tom (Terri) Potts Jr., Michael (Dawn) Potts and Brian (Krystle) Potts; nine grandchildren, Brooke, Bradley, Bailey, Devon, Aiden, Keyan, Vaughn, Aubrey and Natalie; great grandson, Landon; two brothers, Charles (Sue) Layhew and Russell Layhew; sister, Linda (Stan) Padlo; numerous nieces and nephews and other loving family members and friends.

Denise was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Lonnie Layhew.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 7, 2018 from 2:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart. A funeral service for Denise will take place Thursday, February 8, 2018 at 12:00 pm also at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel. Cremation will follow.  For more information, please call (219) 942-2109.
