Dennis R. Anderson, age 82, of Lake Station, passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2018. He was born on May 29, 1935 in Gary, Indiana to the late Melvin and Winona Anderson. Dennis attended Bradley University where he played football and worked in the field house.  He was the owner of Anderson Fence Company and retired from Budd Company after working there for 20 years.  Dennis was a devoted member of Community United Presbyterian Church of Lake Station. He was an avid sports fan and especially loved to watch the Chicago White Sox and Indiana University Basketball. Dennis enjoyed bowling and taking fishing trips to Lake Erie with family and friends. Above all, he loved his family and cherished the time he spent with them.  He attended as many of his grandkids sporting events as he could.

Dennis is survived by his beloved wife, Phyllis; sons, Mark (Michelle) Anderson, David (Carol) Anderson; daughter, Jeanne (Mike) Killosky; grandchildren, Derek (Jeni) Anderson, Chris (Cora) Anderson, Neil (fiancée, Veronica Mata) Anderson, Karli (Sean) Hansen, Wendi (Mike) York, Abby Anderson, Katie Anderson, Jordan Killosky and Mallory Killosky; 11 great grandchildren; brother, Dale Anderson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, David E. Anderson and brother, Dr. Ned Anderson. Memorial contributions in Dennis' name may be made to Community United Presbyterian Church of Lake Station.

A funeral service for Dennis will take place Friday, March 23, 2018 at 10:00 am at Community United Presbyterian Church, 2800 Fayette St., Lake Station, IN 46405. He will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery in Portage. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 22, 2018 from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart. For more information, please call (219) 942-2109.
