Dennis G. Flanagan, Sr., age 66, of Portage, passed away Sunday, March 24, 2019 at Methodist Southlake Hospital in Merrillville.  He was born in Gary, Indiana on April 2, 1952 to the late Kenneth and Mary (nee Horton) Flanagan.  He worked for US Steel as a welder for over 30 years.  Dennis was a member of Nativity of Our Savior Church in Portage.  He enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, cooking, and coaching softball.

Dennis is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Irene (nee Azcona) Flanagan; children, Dennis (Tami) Flanagan, Jr., Steven (Sophie) Flanagan, Amanda (Michael) Imburgia, Shannon (Jillian) Shikles, Justine Supp; grandchildren, Brooke, Alexis, Serena, Skylar, Steven, Alexander, Isabella; siblings, Steven (Maryann) Trpezanovich, Michelene Partin, Kathleen (Michael) Wayte; sister in law, Esther Flanagan; and loving dogs, Moe, Otis.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Patrick Flanagan and his parents.
