Dennis J. King

Dennis J. King, age 71, of Hobart passed away suddenly Thursday November 30, 2023, at St Mary Medical Center in Hobart. Dennis was born September 24, 1952, in Gary to the late Herbert W. and Virginia May (Mattingly) King, Sr. Dennis was a retired limousine driver. He was a member of the Hobart High School Alumni Association. He was an avid Green Bay Packers Fan, and loved NASCAR.

Dennis is survived by his life partner, Darla Vellines of Hobart; two step daughters, Jeri (Gene) Davis of Hebron, and Juli (James Nelick) Pavy of Lawrence, Kansas; a grandson, Austin (Lexi Brock) Pavy; a great granddaughter, Violet Rose Pavy; four siblings, Janice (John) Rogula of Valparaiso, Herbert W. King, Jr. of Ft Worth, Texas, Bonnie (Charles) Smith of Valparaiso, and Lisa Beck of LaPorte; several nieces and nephews; and a large extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Ronald King, Kenneth King, and Richard King.

A Celebration of Dennis' Life will be held at a later date. Rees Funeral Home 600 W. Old Ridge Road Hobart, Indiana was entrusted with Dennis' services.
