Dennis Lee Owen, age 73, of Lake Station, IN, passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2022.

Dennis was born on February 19, 1949 in Gary, IN and was the son of Kenneth Hurt.  He worked for many years in his own business both selling used cars and doing body work on cars.  Dennis was more than a car enthusiast, he loved to drive his classic cars and was a member of the Winamac Old Classic Car Club.  He also loved to go to Four Winds Casino and referred to himself as the "Four Winds Copper".  He enjoyed his Crown and coke.  Dennis will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Dennis is survived by his children: Patty (Destri) Duffee, Rick (Pam) Owen, and Sirena Owen; fiancé: Crystal Noak; grandchildren: Alyssa, Briana, Kyle, Sara, and Derek; and beloved dog: Spirit.

Dennis is preceded in death by his dad: Kenneth, and his first beloved dog: Gibby.

Family and friends may gather at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel (600 W. Old Ridge Rd, Hobart) on Friday, December 30, 2022 from 4:00-7:00 P.M. A funeral service will take place immediately following visitation at 7:00 P.M. with Pastor Scott Mauch officiating.  Cremation will follow and he will be buried in Kentucky at a later date.
