Denzil Gibbs, age 59, passed away on Saturday, January 07, 2017. He was born on December 24, 1957 in Jackson, Kentucky to the late James and Juanita (nee McIntosh) Gibbs. He enjoyed spending his time hunting, fishing, camping and at the VFW in Lake Station. He will be remembered as a loving: father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend.
Denzil is survived by his loving companion, Sandy Goodman; three sons, Jayson Goodman of Korea, Adam (Mary) Gibbs of Portage and Justin Goodman of Lake Station; four daughters, Mandie Gibbs of Portage and Sarah Roberts of Lake Station, Jakala Goodman of Lake Station and Jessica Goodman of Lake Station ; numerous grandchildren; three brothers, Charles "Denise"Gibbs , Winfred "Tammy" Gibbs and Walter Gibbs; four sisters, Reva Thomas "Terry Hayes", Anetta "Daryl" Bowman, Brenda Keller and Rhonda Wheeler; sister-in-law, Donna Gibbs; numerous nieces and nephews, other loving family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Wendell Gibbs and Billy J. Gibbs.
Memorial visitation for Denzil will be Friday ,January 13 , 2017 from 2 pm- 3 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave., Portage. A funeral service will take place Friday, January 13, 2017 following visitation at the funeral home. Cremation will follow, with a burial at McIntosh Cemetery in Jackson, Kentucky where he will be laid to rest with his parents. For more information, please call (219) 762-3013.
