Desiree Emerson, age 59, of Lake Station, passed away Monday, December 28, 2020.  She was born in Dawson, Pennsylvania on October 29,1961 to the late James and Ruth (nee Hart) Lint.  Desiree loved her children and grandchildren; they were her world.  She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

Desiree is survived by her three sons, Joseph "JJ" Penilla, Cody "Bub" (Heather O'Mahoney) Emerson and Edward E. (Tiffany) Knox; daughter, Bryanna "Sissy Marie" Emerson; grandchildren, Lilly Thompson, Tibias and Arinna Payton, Josalynn and Isabella Emerson, Addison, Gavin, Alysa, Skyler and Ethan Knox; significant other, Charles A. Llamas; sister, Donna (John) Gonzales and many other loving family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Anna Hardy. Funeral Service will be Friday, January 8, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central  Ave., Portage, Indiana 46368.Visitation will take place Friday, January 8,2021  from noon until time of service also at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel.

Please note that due to Lake County Covid-19 restrictions the visitation will be limited to 25 people at one time.  Masks will be required, and hand sanitizer will be available.  We ask that everyone helps us in keeping everyone safe and practices social distancing.
