Devon "Duke" A. Starkey

Devon A. Starkey, Sr. "Duke", age 53, of Portage passed away Sunday February 26, 2023, in his home. Duke was born December 24, 1969, in Gary, Indiana to the late John A. Foster and Dorothy Mae Starkey. He was a retired tow truck operator for I80 Auto Parts. He loved his friends and family dearly. Duke was a former member of the Portage Loyal Order of Moose.

He is survived by his six children, Richard (Kim) Evans of Chesterton, David Lee Evans of Portage, Brittney Janiga of Portage, Alyssa Janiga of Portage, Jacquelynn Janiga of Valparaiso, and Katelyn Starkey of Platteville, WI; three brothers and one sister, Ricky (Angie) Starkey, Henry Huff, John (Sonna) Caldwell, and Kimberly Starkey; seventeen grandchildren; and one great grandson.

He was preceded in death by his wife Lisa Starkey; and son Devon Starkey, Jr.

Visitation will be from 2-8 pm Friday March 3, 2023, at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel 5341 Central Avenue Portage, Indiana 46368. A Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 am Saturday March 4, 2023, at the funeral home. Cremation with burial of cremated remains will follow.
