Diana L. Budzielek, age 73 of Hobart passed away peacefully with her family by her side Tuesday, January 19, 2016. She was born on March 10, 1942 in Gary, Indiana. She graduated from River Forest High School, Class of 1960. Diana was the co-owner of the Bud Insurance Agency. She was a longtime member of Assumption BVM Church in New Chicago. Diana was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved going to their sporting events and school functions, baking sugar cookies and watching ET with them over 1000 times. She was loved by all who knew her and will be missed by many.

She is survived by her husband, Ronald Budzielek of Hobart, IN; 5 children, Timothy (Maryann) Budzielek of Lakeville, IN; David Budzielek of Hobart, IN; Bob Budzielek of Hobart, IN; Mike (Laura) Budzielek of Hobart, IN; Lynn (Allen) Wronko of Hobart, IN; one sister, Judy Brefeld of Cincinnati, OH; one brother, Pete (Gail) Sotak of Columbia, IL; 16 grandchildren, Jake (Ashley), Cole, Jill, Rex, Nick, Marley, Brock, Eric, Rachel, Luke, Olivia, Alanna, Madeline, Melissa, Michael, Mitchell, Dominic, and Lilah, two great-grandchildren, Bo, and Raelynn, and four nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Julius and Diana Szotak, one brother-in-law, Joe Brefeld, and one nephew, Joey Brefeld.

Funeral services are Saturday, January 23, 2016 beginning with 9:30 a.m. prayers at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart and proceeding to Assumption BVM Church for a 10 a.m. mass of Christian burial.
