Diana Lynn Cheek, age 61, of Lake Station passed away Saturday May 5, 2018 at her home.  Diana was born December 9, 1956 in Lynch, Kentucky to the late Loyd and Ola (White) Smith.  She was a custodian at Edison High School in Lake Station.  Diana was a devoted member of Pathway Assembly of God Church.  She loved her friends and family and enjoyed crocheting.

Diana is survived by her husband, Steve of Lake Station; three children, James (Melissa) Wacasey of Hobart, Millie Zipperer of Lake Station and Jonathan (Nicole) Wright of Crown Point; three stepchildren, John Obermyer of Merrillville, Kellie (Roger) Torres of Portage and James (Sarah) Cheek of Hobart; one sister, Deborah Richardson of Lake Station; fourteen grandchildren; one great grandchild; two nieces, Heather Richardson and Amie Ward.

Diana was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Michael Smith.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Wednesday May 9, 2018 at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel 5341 Central Avenue Portage, IN 46368 with Pastor James Lopez officiating.  Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.  Visitation will take place at the funeral home Tuesday from 2:00-8:00 pm.
