Diane Maldonado a 71-year-old resident of Valparaiso, passed away Wednesday, August 28, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on September 12, 1952, to the late Clarence and Wayma (nee Hayes) White in Memphis, Tennessee.  She held a diploma in computer technology and retired from her role as an administrative assistant at Ivy Tech. She had a variety of hobbies, including sewing , gardening, traveling and being on her computer, but her greatest love was spending time with her husband, her children and grandchildren. On her final journey, she embarked on a luxurious cruise accompanied by her beloved husband, children and grandchildren, she relished every moment.

Diane is survived by her husband of 8 years, George Maldonado; son, Marshall Kathcart; two daughters, Sheri (Martin) Taylor and Sarah Kathcart; brother, Denny (Rhonda) White; sister, Donna Armer; five grandchildren, Katelyn, Nicholas, Kyle, Emilee and Joseph and many other loving family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Edward Kathcart and brother-in-law, Mark Armer.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at 7:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart, Indiana 46342, with Chaplain Steve Wendler officiating. Cremation will follow. A visitation will also be held Wednesday, September 4, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service.
