Obituary
DIETER H. HILTROP, age 72, of Portage, passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2016. He was born in Germany on November 23, 1943 to the late Hugo and Meta Hiltrop. He worked as a machinist at the EJ&E Railroad and had served in the US Army National Guard. He was a member of the American Legion Post #207 and the German DANK Club since 1974.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Hiltrop; stepdaughter, Renee (Peter) Drasic of Portage; special niece Melissa (Eric) Kwiecien; great nephew, Nicco Kwiecien and great niece, Avery Kwiecien; and other loving family and dear friends. Grand pups Buster and Tinky.
Dieter enjoyed listening to and collecting music. He stayed current and was very knowledgeable in world news and politics. He enjoyed sports and working in the yard and entertaining by his pool.
