DIGNO SCOTT MORALES, age 76, of Portage, passed away Thursday, August 22, 2013. Digno was born in Yabucoa, Puerto Rico on September 22, 1936 and came to Chicago in 1957. Digno settled in the Northwest Indiana area over 50 years ago, where he married Dorotha (Seay) Murray. Digno worked for the EJ&E Railroad and eventually retired from the law firm of Hunegs, LeNeave and Kvas where he worked as an investigator. He attended St. Francis Catholic Church. Digno will be remembered as social man who was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his loving wife, Dorotha; 2 children, Luis Raul (Iris) Scott of GA and Judith Scott of Chicago; 2 stepchildren, Brenda Anton of Portage and Larry (Janice) Murray of LaPorte; 14 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; sister, Providencia Scott of Puerto Rico; brother, Julian Scott of Chicago; other loving family and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Amelia and stepdaughter, Barbara Mulligan.
A funeral service for Digno will be Monday, August 26, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Brady Chapel, 3781 Central Ave., Lake Station. Burial will follow at McCool Cemetery.
