Dolores "Anne" Rukavina

Dolores "Anne" Rukavina, age 86, a longtime resident of Portage passed away on Monday, September 13, 2010. She was born on March 21, 1924 in Earl Park, Indiana the daughter of Samuel and Bernedetta Butler. Anne was employed as a cafeteria worker for River Forest High School for over 10 years. She loved bunko, reading, and puzzles. She belonged to a pinochle club and was a poll worker for many years. Her greatest joy was helping to raise many children.

Anne is survived by her loving family; daughters Sharon (Edward) Pitrowski, LaPorte, Karen (Charles) Choucalas, Portage, and Carol (Cary) Waggoner, Pompano, FL, son Jerome (Kristine) Rukavina, Oahu, HI, 10 grandchildren, numerous great and great-great grandchildren, brother Blandchard (Sylvia) Butler, Watseka, IL, and other loving family and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her first husband Charles Sinks, and her second husband Michael "Mitch" Rukavina, sons Charles "Sonny" Sinks and Robert "Bobby" Sinks, sisters Marie Whittaker and Margie Eldridge, and brothers Bill Butler and Leo Butler.

A memorial visitation for Anne Rukavina will be held from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Sunday, September 19, 2010 at Rees Funeral Home – Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Avenue, Portage with a memorial service at 3:00 pm on Sunday with Reverend Randall Forsythe, officiating. Burial of cremains will be at Oakland Cemetery in Morocco at 11:00 am on Monday, September 20, 2010. Memorials in Anne's memory may be made to her family.
