Dominick J. Rossi, Jr., age 80, of Lake Station, passed away Thursday, June 1, 2017. He was born at home on May 10, 1937 in East Gary, Indiana. He worked as a union laborer and was a 57 year gold member of the International Laborers Union Local #81 and the Valparaiso Moose Lodge. Dominick enjoyed doing puzzles, gardening and cutting his grass. He was an avid fan of the Chicago Bears, the Indianapolis Colts, NASCAR, and attended the Indianapolis 500 every year. He was very fond of getting together for breakfast once a month with his friends in the East Gary Edison Alumni Club. Above all, his grandson, Salvador was his pride and joy and he cherished the time he spent with him especially with Lionel train sets.
He is survived by his daughters, Sheri (nee Rossi) Bolles, Sunni(Ian Stetler) Rossi; granddaughter, Shelisa Bolles; only grandson, Salvador Rossi Stetler; sisters, Donna Rossi, Angie Thomason, and Phyllis Wilson, many other loving family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dominick and Rose Rossi; brothers, Sam, John, and Joseph Rossi, sister, Mary Davis; brother-in-law, Wayne Thomason; very special friends, Virgil and Iona Goin.

A funeral service for Dominick will take place Sunday, June 4, 2017 at 4:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart with Pastor Bob Burton officiating.
