Donagene (Sturtz) Breshock, age 93 of Hobart passed away Sunday June 22, 2025, at the Brentwood of Hobart surrounded by her loving family. She was born February 11, 1932, in Lanark, IL to the late Cloyd and Elsie (Helder) Sturtz. She was a teacher at the Nathan Hale School in Lansing, Illinois and she worked many years as a paralegal. She enjoyed playing Bridge, Pinochle, and Dominoes. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her four sons, Douglas (Kim) Breshock of Monee, IL, Steve (Carol) Breshock of Crown Point, Michael (Lisa) Breshock of Sturgis, MI, and Tim (Cyndee) Breshock of St. John; one sister-in-law, Millie Sturtz; six grandchildren, Adam (Vanesa) Breshock, Tara (Liam) Flaherty, Brendon (Samantha) Breshock, Cassie (Brayden) Banske, Teigen (Zach) Bulthuis, and Timothy "TJ" (Klaudia) Breshock; and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Breshock; her parents, and four brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be Friday June 27, 2025, from 4-7 pm at Rees Funeral Home 600 West Old Ridge Road Hobart, Indiana 46342. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin with 9:30 am Prayers at the Funeral Home and process to St. Bridget Catholic Church at 10 am where Mass will be Celebrated by Rev. Benjamin Ross. Cremation will follow. Donagene's ashes will be interred in a niche with her husband in a columbarium in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
Memorial gifts may be made to the Hobart Humane Society, or the Dunes Hospice, or to St Jude Children's Research Hospital in lieu of flowers.
