Obituary

Donald A. SeDoris, age 48 of Hobart, passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2022 in East Chicago, Indiana. He was born November 13, 1973 in Gary to Donald L. and Margaret Elmeier SeDoris, who preceded him in death in 1994. Don was a 1992 graduate of Hobart High School, where he played center on the Brickie team that won the state football championship. He was employed at Meijer in Portage.

Don leaves behind a large and loving family. He is survived by his daughter Baylee of Flint, Michigan; son Aron of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; father and stepmother, Don and Nancy SeDoris of Hobart; four brothers: William (Lisa) SeDoris of Hobart, Brian (Patti) SeDoris of Chapman, Kansas, Michael (Whitney) SeDoris and Mark (Jennifer) SeDoris, both of Hobart;  four sisters: Kim (Dale) Webdell and Barbara SeDoris, both of Hobart, Margaret (Clay) Tison of St. Petersburg, Florida, Donna Beres of Hobart; two step-sisters: Sarah (Matt) Dumbauld of Hobart and Laura (Todd) Basich of Westville; stepbrother Paul Tanner of Hobart. His many nieces and nephews loved their Uncle Boze for his big heart and teasing humor, especially Emmett, whom Don was helping to raise. He enjoyed working with many of them on their homework and teaching them to read. Don was a history buff and enjoyed trivia and word games, playing with family online. His family always knew he would be there to both celebrate with them in the good times and to help in the tough ones, and he will be deeply missed.
