Donald Bradbury

Age 78 of Michigan City, formerly of Portage, passed away Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at Franciscan Health in Michigan City. He was born on May 6, 1947, in East Chicago, Indiana to the late Edward and Myrtle Bradbury. Donald proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was a 50 yr. member of the American Legion Post 260, the D.A.V and the VFW of Michigan City. He retired from Bethlehem Steel. Donald found enjoyment in playing pool at the Bonner Center, collecting coins and indulging in gambling and painting. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, stepfather, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.

He is survived by his wife of 36 yrs., Catherine Bradbury; five children, Jesse (Jocelyn) Bradbury, Peggy (Mark) Tuzinski, Donna Bradbury, Andrew (Veronica) Bradbury and Charles Whelan; 11 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and other loving family members and friends.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Edward and Ernest and sister, Leona.

A funeral service for Donald will be held Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at 6:00 p.m.  at Rees Funeral Home 5341 Central Ave. Portage, Indiana 46368. Private family burial to take place at a later date. Visitation will also be held on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service also at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel.
