Donald Lee Dolan

Donald Lee Dolan, age 73, of Kouts, Indiana, passed away Sunday, July 5, 2020 at home. He was born on October 29, 1946 in Gary, Indiana to the late Harold and Lois Dolan. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army Special Forces known as the Green Berets during the Vietnam war. Don was employed with US Steel and the Budd Company before opening his own welding business where he also taught the trade. He will always be remembered as an inventor, a machinist, a poet and a pilot.

He is survived by his daughter, Kristine (fiancé, Bryan Scofield) Tipold; son, Michael J. Dolan; grandchildren, Andrew Dolan, Jacob Tipold and Stephanie Tipold; sister, Faye (Coke) Tully; best friend who was more like a brother, Paul Spanapoulos.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Lois Dolan; one infant son and an infant brother.

Memorial visitation for Don will take place Friday, July 17, 2020 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart.
