Donald Wayne Duncan, age 62, of Lexington, Tennessee, formerly of Northwest Indiana passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2019. He was born on October 23, 1956 in Gary, Indiana to the late William and Catherine (nee Smith) Duncan. He retired from the United States Postal Service, where he worked as an Electronic Technician.  Prior to the Postal Service, Donald served his country in the United States Army, stationed in Germany.  Before retirement and especially after, he spent his free time becoming a ham radio operator and on clear night skies was an amateur astronomer. Donald was a good man who carried a hereditary gene for a quick sense of humor often described as onerous by all who knew him.  He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend who was always willing to help others in any way he could.

He is survived by his wife Joan (nee Leonard) Duncan ; daughter, Tracie Lynn Duncan; son, Donald (Chrissy) Duncan; grand-daughter, "Princess" Margo Duncan; step son, Steven Blanchard; three step-grandchildren, Cody Sekema, Lilly and Kyle Blanchard; three brothers, John (Peggy), Bob (Carol) and Stephen (Gina); three sisters, Patty Angermeier, Linda (Tom) Shaper and Betty (Larry) Roland; sisters in-law Georgia Anderson and Kathie (Bob) Belinski, brother-in law Chris (Linda) Milojevic, several nieces, nephews and other loving family members.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Margo Duncan; his parents; five brothers, Joe, James, Paul, Ray and David; three sisters, Mary Price, Ann Luedeke and Phyllis Jones.

A funeral service for Donald will be held Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 Old Ridge Road , Hobart, with Pastor Bob Burton officiating . Burial will be at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville with a luncheon to follow at the Hobart Moose Lodge #783.  Visitation for Donald will be held Tuesday, June 25, 2019 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm.  also at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel.
