Donald Lee Henrichs II, age 70, of Lake Station, Indiana, passed away on April 16, 2026, at St. Mary Medical Center. He was born on May 3, 1955, in Michigan City, Indiana, to Esther Marie (née Cavell) Tonevich and the late Donald Lee Henrichs. Donald graduated from Bishop Noll High School in 1973. He dedicated 41 years of hard work as a crane operator at U.S. Steel, where he built a career marked by commitment and resilience. He was a passionate sports fan who especially loved the Alabama Crimson Tide, Chicago White Sox, Chicago Bears, and Chicago Bulls. He also enjoyed listening to Bob Seger, playing the saxophone, and staying active through working out. Donald will be remembered for his kind and generous spirit. He had a huge heart and was always willing to help those in need. His greatest pride and most treasured possession was his family.
He is survived by his mother, Esther Tonevich; three daughters, Sheryl (John Skrundz Jr.), Michelle Burchwell, and Donna (Joe Klimczyk) Henrichs; his sister, Cheryl Ann (Larry) Jones; and a large and loving family of grandchildren, including Jorie (Jason) Witcher, Christopher (Marie Puckett) Johnson, Alyssia Johnson, Conner Johnson, Addisyn Johnson, Ava Johnson, Leah Johnson, Gage (Morgan) Henrichs, Hayden Klimczyk, Mylie Klimczyk, Harlowe Klimczyk, Talullah Klimczyk, Paisleey Klimczyk, Axxle Klimczyk, Jagger Klimczyk, Loxley Klimczyk, Melissa Armstrong, Madisyn Burchwell, and great-grandchildren Aubrianna Witcher, Zeppelin Witcher, Alayna Johnson, and Cole Johnson, along with many other loving family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Henrichs; his stepfather, James Tonevich; his grandmother, Angeline Dennison; and his grandfather, Donald Dennison. Donald will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

A funeral service for Donald will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at 12:00 noon at Rees Funeral Home, Brady Chapel, 3781 Central Ave., Lake Station, Indiana 46405. Burial to follow at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, also at Rees Funeral Home, Brady Chapel.
