Donald A. Kepshire, age 85 of Hobart passed away Friday, August 28, 2015. He was born on November 29, 1929 in Gary, Indiana to the late Andrew and Mary Kepshire. Don served his country in the U.S. Army. He worked as a switchman for the EJ and E railroad and as a Cement Finisher for the Cement Masons Union. He loved hunting, fishing, traveling and watching the Wheel of Fortune and Westerns.
He is survived by his wife, Delores Kepshire of Hobart, IN; one son, Donald E. Kepshire of Hobart, IN; two daughters, Susan (Michael) Mantai of Kouts, IN; Kathey (Robert II) Berndt of Kokomo, IN; seven grandchildren, Michael (Jennifer) Mantai, Christopher (Melissa) Mantai, Lindsey Berndt, Robert Berndt III, Lauren Berndt, Andrew Kepshire, and Alyssa Kepshire, and lifetime friend, John Valenti.
Memorial donations in Donald's honor may be made to St Jude Children's Hospital and the American Lung Association.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Kepshire in 1990.
Funeral services are Tuesday, September 1, 2015 beginning with 9:30 a.m. prayers at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart and proceeding to St Bridget Church for a 10 a.m. mass of Christian burial with Rev. Dominic V. Bertino and Rev. David Nowak concelebrating. Burial will follow at Calumet Park Cemetery. Visitation is Monday, August 31, 2015 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel.
