Donald Napier

Donald Napier, age 93, of Lake Station, passed away at home on Saturday, March 31, 2018 surrounded by his family.  He was born in New Chicago, Indiana on January 15, 1925 to the late Ralph and Leah (nee Maupin) Napier.  Donald was a proud member of the United States Navy during WWII where he served aboard the USS Prince William Escort Carrier.  He belonged to the American Legion, Post 100 in Lake Station.  Donald retired from US Steel after 41 years of employment in the Coke Plant.

Donald is survived by his children, Sue (Wayne) Rogers, Katie (John) Lemke, Cindy (John) Batusic; daughter in law, Denise Napier; 9 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and caregiver, Maureen Chitundu.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Grace (nee Ellis) Napier; son, Donald B. Napier; great granddaughter, Cassidy; sister, Elizabeth J. Napier; and his parents.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Donald's honor to Shriners Hospitals for Children®, 2900 Rocky Point Dr.
