Donald E. Oldham Sr., age 67 of Hammond, Indiana passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2011. He was born on July 30, 1944 in Chicago, Illinois to the late James and Alpha Oldham. He was a former Chicago resident and a Hammond resident for the past 15 years. He was in a band with his brothers where he played the guitar and sang. Donald loved his family and always put them first. Christmas was his favorite holiday and he also loved bingo and watching movies. Donald is Vietnam Veteran serving in the United States Army.
He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Pam Oldham, 7 children, Donald (Janet Anglin) Oldham Jr., Dusty Oldham, Darrin (Theresa) Oldham, Susan (Wesley Carman) Oldham-Carman, Danny (Kelly Vanderwoude) Oldham, Sheryl (Steve Mendoza) Oldham, Sheila (Jason Rogers) Oldham, 4 brothers, Jimmy (Gloria) Oldham, Jerry (Sue) Oldham, Danny (Theresa) Oldham, Timmy (Kim) Oldham, 20 grandchildren, Morgan, Madelyn, Reese, Mike, Josh, Bryan, Randy, Michael, Nicolas, Travis, Samantha, Sarah, Erica, Max, Jayden, Nevaeh, Junior, Logan, Joey, Nolan, 2 great-grandchildren, Lily, and Addy, 1 stepmother, Sharon Oldham, and 1 step-brother, Richie Shephard.
Visitation is Sunday, November 27, 2011 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart. Funeral services are Monday, November 28, 2011 at 10 a.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel. Burial will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville.
