Donald P. Pennock, age 83, of Hobart, passed away Friday, March 11, 2016 surrounded by his family. He was born on October 24, 1932 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Charles and Margaret Pennock. He retired after thirty years from US Steel where he worked as an electrician. He enjoyed fishing, traveling and gardening. His greatest joy was spending time with his family.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Joyce (nee Ginther) Pennock; sons, Kim (Mary) Kessler, Michael Pennock; daughters, Vickie (Gary) Scearce, Reesa (Brad) Murray; grandchildren, Eric (Jeanine) Crofton, Melissa (Bryan) Robinson, Matthew (Renee) Scearce, Katie (Ryan) Jones, Kara Kessler, Kristyn Kessler, Kevin Kessler, Jasmine Pennock, Josie Pennock, Tracy Pennock, Carrie Pennock; great grandchildren, Isaac, Connor, Skylar, Julian, Collyn, Keagan, Ella, Cayden, Scarlett and one on the way; and one brother, Dean Pennock.

Don is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Margaret Pennock; brothers, Will, Arthur, Bob, and Marvin Pennock. Memorial contributions in Don's name may be made to Unity Hospice, 8407 Virginia Street, Merrillville, IN 46410.

Memorial visitation for Don will be held Tuesday, March 15, 2016 from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road.
