DONALD J. "DON" RUZGA, age 62, of Valparaiso, passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2013. Don had been a lifelong Northwest Indiana resident having grown up in East Gary/Lake Station. He was a graduate of Andrean High School in 1969 and retired from US Steel. Don enjoyed golfing and was an avid gun collector.
He is survived by his son, Jason (Christy) Ruzga of Franklin, IN, daughter, Toni Ruzga of Indianapolis, IN, granddaughter, Lexie Ruzga, brother, Albert J. (Cheryl) Ruzga of Raeford, NC, 2 sisters, Pat (Steve) Fenmore of Ninety-Nine, SC, Janine (John) Sheppard of Lake Station, nieces and nephews: Lauren and Keenan Ruzga; Mallory and Marissa Crafton; Kyle (Lauren) Fenmore and Tara (Dan) Glenny. Don was preceded in death by his parents, Albert A. and Margaret (nee Hrinda) Ruzga.
Visitation and funeral services will both be held Friday, September 27, 2013 with visitation beginning at 4:00 PM at Rees Funeral Home, Brady Chapel, 3781 Central Avenue, Lake Station. The funeral service will start at 7:00 PM with Pastor Bob Burton officiating. Cremation will follow the service.
