Donald Stewart, Jr.

Donald Stewart, Jr., age 73, of Hobart passed away in his home on November 4, 2026. Donald was born in Gary, Indiana June 04, 1953, to the late Donald and Yvonne (Brown) Stewart, Sr. He was a US Army Veteran. He worked for thirty-eight years as a boilermaker at US Steel. He was a member of the Izaak Walton League, and the Maria Reiner Senior Center in Hobart. He was a member of the Crown of Life Baptist Church.

Donald is survived by his children, Eddie (Tammy) Wennacott, Megan Lake, Jessica Vale, Gregg Akerly, Matthew (Holly) Stewart, and Nathaniel Stewart; a brother, James Stewart; a sister, Deborah Lesage; many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Jerry Stewart.

His funeral service will be conducted at 11:30 am Saturday November 14, 2026, at the Rees Funeral Home 600 W. Old Ridge Road Hobart, Indiana 46342. His visitation will be from 9:30 until the time of service. Burial will follow in McCool Cemetery.
