Donna L.  (nee Marley) Hughes

Age 77, Hobart passed away Sunday, February 16, 2025, at Saint Mary Medical Center in Hobart. She was born on August 21, 1947, to the late Arley and Dorothy (nee Ralph) Marley in Gary, Indiana. On February 15, 1969, Donna married the love of her life Charles R. Hughes. Donna retired from Sprint where she worked as a bookkeeper. She was an avid reader who enjoyed spending time with her family, playing games, watching movies and loving her fur babies Leo, Riley and Winnie.

She is survived by her loving husband of 56 yrs. Charles R. Hughes; two daughters, Sharon L. Hughes and Janice L. Hughes; two grandchildren, Kayla M. Hughes and Cameron R. Hughes; two brothers, Arley (Elsi) Marley III and Roger (Janie) Marley and numerous nieces and nephews and other loving family members and friends.

She is preceded in death by her daughter, Susan A. Hughes, her parents and sister, Pamela Morgan.

A funeral service for Donna will be held Monday, February 24, 2025, at 10:00 am at Rees Funeral Home Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave. Portage, Indiana 46368. Burial will follow at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville, Indiana. Visitation will be held on Sunday February 23, 2025, from 2:00-6:00 p.m. also at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel.
