Donna M. Stewart, age 81, of Crown Point, formerly a longtime Hobart resident, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on November 6, 2025. She was born on October 1, 1944, in Aurora, Illinois to the late Nelson and Annette Casey. On February 18, 1967, Donna married the love of her life, William R. Stewart. Together they built a beautiful family and shared many wonderful years, until his passing in 2017. She was a devoted member of the Michigan Avenue Methodist Church. Donna was a Girl Scout leader for many years. She drove bus for River Forest Schools for years and went on to be a bus driver for the School City of Hobart, faithfully serving her community and its children for over 34 years. She loved having breakfast and lunch with all her work friends and her church "Lunch Bunch". She will be remembered for her kindness, her strong work ethic, and the love she showed to everyone she met.

She is survived by her children, Hugh (Debbie) Stewart, Tony (Barb) Arnold, Randy (Stephanie) Stewart, and LaVaughn (Jeff)Relinski; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother, Nelson (Tina) Casey, Jr.; seven sisters, Tony Hargus, Judith (the late Don) Walker, Norma (Irv) Dees, Beverly (Marvin) Holsten, Sally (Richard) Steward, Sharon (the late Joe) Winnette, and Lynda (Roland) Mulchay; many nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends.

Donna's legacy lives on in the love she gave to her family and the many lives she touched. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Visitation for Donna will be Tuesday, November 11, 2025 from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd., Hobart. Funeral service will be Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at 12 Noon at Rees Funeral Home, with Rev. Sheri Locascio officiating. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery.
