Donna J. (nee Hecht) Thorn, age 76, of Portage, passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Donna was born on December 28, 1939 to the late Walter and Esther (nee Miller) Hecht in Lansing, IL. She retired in 2009 after 30 yrs. as an office administrator at Calvary Cemetery. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and sister.
Donna is survived by her two sons, Roger (Jill) Thorn of Portage, Mark (Nikki) Thorn of Las Vegas; daughter, Jackie Thorn of Nashville, Tennessee; four grandchildren, Christopher, Nick, Katie and Karlie; two brothers, Marlowe (Carol) Hecht of Fort Wayne and Tom (Beverly) Hecht of Geneva, Illinois; sister-in-law Lorraine Hecht of Schererville and many other loving family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence L. Thorn; infant daughter, Sandra Jean; her parents; brother, Fred Hecht; two sisters, Dolores Fisher and Ruth Rex.
A funeral service for Donna will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Avenue, Portage, IN 46368.
