Doris F. Wirick

Doris F. Wirick, age 95, of Crown Point, passed away Saturday, November 3, 2018. She was born on January 13, 1923 in Porter County, IN to the late William and Eva Hamann. On April 9, 1944, she married Guy O. Wirick, Jr. in Santa Ana, California. Doris appreciated nature and enjoyed watching birds and gardening. She loved animals and dedicated her life to taking care of her family.

She is survived by three sons, Larry (Jeanne) Wirick of Pittsburg, CA, Bob and Tony Wirick of Crown Point; one adopted daughter, Sharon Anderson of St. Charles, IL; grandson, Kelly Wirick of San Diego, CA; two great grandchildren, Victoria and Kelvin; several nieces, nephews, and very special friends especially Donna and Dee Dee and lifelong friend, Connie.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Guy Wirick; her parents, William and Eva Hamann; two brothers, Evart and Royce; and four sisters, Ella Mae, Eileen, Alice and Jean. Memorial contributions in Doris' name may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, 2301 Ohio St. Michigan City, IN 46360.

A funeral service for Doris will take place Thursday, November 8, 2018 at 11:00 am at Rees Funeral Home, Winfield Chapel, 10909 Randolph Winfield/ Crown Point, IN 46307.  She will be laid to rest at Mosier Cemetery in Union Township. Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 7, 2018 from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home. For more information, please call (219) 661-2600.
