Dorothy M. Beard passed away on August 27, 2016 at Golden Living Center, Portage. Dorothy was born on October 7, 1933 to the late Eugene and Stella (nee Ramey) McClellan. Dorothy had one of the kindest hearts ever known. She loved life and truly never had a cross word to say about anyone. Couldn't everyone take a lesson from that?! She absolutely adored the Irish singer, Daniel O'Donell! Some would say she was even "obsessed with him". She considered seeing him perform live twice, a highlight of her later years. She went as far as to keep a photo of him in her wallet! She loved to say when she forgot her camera, "I took that snapshot up here", as she pointed at her head. The world was certainly a better place while she was here. She will be sorely missed by many. Near the end there was only one song she remembered and sang frequently. So for one last time, my beautiful sister, Dorothy, sing it with me sis…" You are my sunshine, my only sunshine; you made me happy when skies were grey. You'll never know sis, how much I'll miss you, since my sunshine went away."

Dorothy is survived by sister, Francine Kowalski, Betty (John) McDaniel, Maxine Booth; brother, Bobby (Linda) McClellan; daughter, Patricia Ostrowski; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George Beard; son, Charles "Buddy" Renninger; sister, Barbara Franklin; and brothers, Paul McClellan, Melvin McClellan, Leon McClellan, Cecil McClellan.
