DOROTHY R. FLORES, 87, of Portage, Indiana, passed away Saturday, January 1, 2011 in Portage. Dorothy was a longtime Portage resident and member of Nativity of Our Savior Catholic Church in Portage. She loved her grandchildren and enjoyed playing cards with them and her great grandchildren. Dorothy also cherished spending time at the Bonner Center and every Friday attended Mass at Fountainview Place in Portage. She was well known for the pierogi she prepared for all to enjoy.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna (Edward) Aleman of Portage, 3 grandchildren: Sandra (Tait) Lundgren of Aurora,IL, Ronald (Cindy) Aleman of Forest Park,IL and Kristen Aleman of MN, 3 great grandchildren: Jack & Gia Aleman and Aidan Aleman, sister, Eva Koslowski of Morocco, IN. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Eddie Aleman, husbands, Isaac John Rios, Lino Flores, brother, John Wegrzyn and 5 sisters: Carrie Anaszewicz, Mary Hogan, Katie Westerlund, Josie Anthony and Rose Ciechanowski. In lieu of flowers contributions to the Nativity St. Vincent de Paul Society would be appreciated.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, January 5, 2011 11:00 am at Nativity of Our Savior Catholic Church, 2949 Willowcreek Rd., Portage, with Rev. Andrew Corona officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Portage. Visitation is also Wednesday from 9 am until Mass begins at 11 am at Nativity of Our Savior Catholic Church.
