Dorothy J. Jordan, age 87, of Portage passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2019. She was born on October 24, 1931 in Enville, Tennessee to the late Eunice and Mamie Snider. On November 2, 1946, she married Cecil Jordan in Corinth, MS. She was a great listener and dedicated her life to her family. In her free-time, she enjoyed crocheting, cooking and baking. She was also an excellent seamstress.

She is survived by her son, Perry (Rose) Jordan; daughters, Pam (Michael) Costello, Pat Jordan; 5 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; sisters, Carol Stokes, Kay Sterling, Cathy (Terry) Bunnell; many loving nieces, nephews and other family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eunice and Mamie Snider; beloved husband, Cecil L. Jordan; and brother, James Snider.

A funeral service for Dorothy will take place Friday, April 5, 2019 at 12:30 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Brady Chapel, 3781 Central Ave., Lake Station with Rev. Daniel Gute officiating. She will be laid to rest at McCool Cemetery in Portage. Visitation will be held Friday from 11:30 am until the time of service at the funeral home. For more information, please call (219) 962-1606.
