DOROTHY M. KEEFE, age 83, of Hobart, passed away Thursday, January 9, 2014. She was born on April 10, 1930 in Valparaiso to Margaret and Clarence "Jack" Spratley. She married the late Robert Keefe on June 4, 1949 in Valparaiso. Dorothy loved being a mother, grandmother and great grandmother and taking care of her family. She will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her 5 sons, Arthur (Gail) of TN, James (Alisa) of Portage , John (Nancy) of Portage, David (Barbara) of CO, Carl (Susan) of FL; 7 daughters, Margaret Berg of Portage, Roberta Mosley of Hobart, Patricia (Mark) Besse of Crown Point, Lydia (Bill) Crew of Hobart, Judith Astin of Hobart, Joyce Adkisson of Hammond, and Joan (Richard) Brooks of Union Mills; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild; 2 sisters, Susie Sedgley of TX, and Margaret Neilson of Chicago.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, grandson, Bobby Keefe, 4 brothers, Johnny, James, Casey, and Richard Spratley and 4 sisters, Judy and Betty Jo Spratley, Jeannie Stewart and Elsie Walton.

A funeral service will be Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd., with Rev. Denny Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery.
