Dorothy Kozrowski, a lifetime Northwest Indiana resident passed away Friday, July 19, 2013. She was born on September 22, 1926 in La Crosse, Indiana to the late John and Myrtle (nee Rodgers) Burton. Dorothy worked in New Chicago as a City Clerk Treasurer for many years and Gary Screw and Bolt Works. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, quilting and other crafts. Dorothy loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her two sons; Pete Johns of Louisiana, Raymond (Janet) Kozrowski of Portage, daughter Sandra Johns- Marshall of Simi Valley,
California, brother; Russell Burton of Porter, grandchildren; Darryl Friedlund, Russell Johns, Kevin Marshall, Susan Marshall, Thomas P. Marshall, Beth Kozrowski -Wyman, and Jill Kozrowski, numerous other grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other loving family members.
She is preceded in death by her 1st husband, Thomas Johns, 2nd husband, Stanley Kozrowski, longtime companion Leo Bartos, two brothers Robert and Ronnie Burton, and two sisters; Doris Santiago and MaryLou Watson.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at 11:00 am at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave., Portage with Chaplain Jim Stoel officiating . Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Portage. Visitation is Monday, July, 22, 2013 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel.
