Dorothy M. Niksich

Age 89, of East Chicago, passed away Sunday, January 24, 2016 at St Mary Medical Center in Hobart. She was born on October 7, 1926 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Edward and Mary (nee Pijut) Jaskula. On May 5, 1946 Dorothy married the love of her life her late husband, Michael R. Niksich. She enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, sewing and doing needlework. Dorothy will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
She is survived by her two sons, Thomas (Marsha) Niksich of Hobart and Michael (Darla) Niksich of Davenport, Iowa; daughter, Patricia (Dave) Robinson of Hammond; 11 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and other loving family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband; two great –granddaughters, Lucy and Maggie; daughter-in-law, Antonia Niksich, her parents and five brothers.

A funeral service for Dorothy will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart, Indiana 46342. Burial of Cremains will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in Calumet City, Illinois.
